Phoebe Philo was in the mood to break out from the precise aesthetic she’s created at Céline, dispensing with her sober palette and presenting a busy array of late 1980s-inspired looks featuring a collage of brushstroke prints and tapestry coats. But this worked because Philo kept silhouettes familiar, simple and Céline-like, giving the vibrant abstract patterns the perfect canvas.
