All eyes were on Hedi for his first Saint Laurent menswear collection.
This was a jumble of old and new: skinny silhouettes reeked of classic Slimane, which may be wearing thin at this point. Similarly, the bad-boy slouchy shapes and grungy jeans harked of repetition. Some pieces stood out when not lost under excessive layering, including a structured varsity jacket, but not really enough to redeem the confusion.
In short A youthful collection with potential that will no doubt be bought by buyers, but it wasn’t forward-thinking enough.
