Patricia Field, Stylist and designer

Fashion visionary Patricia Field has been shaking up the industry since the beginning of US TV series Sex and the City, on which she was a stylist.

Her love of outrageous designs and thrift-store pieces has characterised the show’s fashion credentials since its first season.

As soon as Sex and the City: The Movie hit cinema screens in May, fashion from the film was immediately copied by retailers everywhere, with Asos launching a corsage-adorned dress soon after preview shots of the film were leaked to the press.

In October, Field launched a 35-piece collection for Marks & Spencer, much of which sold out online within three hours and offered the mainstream retailer commercial edge and extra column inches.
