Peacocks restructure unveiled

Value chain Peacocks has restructured its buying and merchandising team as part of a strategy to make its ranges more fashionable.

Jane Hotz has been appointed womenswear buying director with additional responsibility for basics. Hotz was previously womenswear buying director at home-shopping firm Shop Direct Group, owner of Littlewoods.

Sarah O’Shea has been promoted from buying controller to buying director of menswear, kidswear, footwear and accessories, while Janice Mock has been promoted to merchandise director.
Peacocks managing director Tim Bettley said: “To continue to grow the business we needed to expand the team. The new positions will allow us to have more focus on each area.”
He added that the appointments would also support plans to open 50 new stores in the UK over the next two years.

Peacocks’ buying and merchandising was previously headed up by Jane McNally, but she left last year to join womenswear business Alexon Group as chief executive.

Peacocks has also recruited Simon Anderson as director for group property acquisitions to lead the expansion.

Hotz was placed by Lucy Harris at recruitment firm The Ashton Partnership.
