Peacocks is to start selling CD’s to take advantage of a gap left in the market since the collapse of Woolworths.
Peacocks, which has over 500 stores in the UK, will sell CDs - including albums from the likes of Cheryl Cole, Lady Gaga, The Saturdays and Take That - for under £10 in 150 selected stores from this week.
The CD offer will be accompanied by licensed t-shirts, in order to give a total gift package. Peacocks said that rock t-shirts are currently up 20% on the year.
Peacocks managing director Tim Bettley said: “The current trends that appeal to our fashion conscious customers are more and more influenced by the music scene. We will offer a combination of the two for customers who know and love their music just as much as their fashion.”
