Senior visual merchandising and POS manager, Matalan, aged 28
Dedication and a passion for visual merchandising means that Cheryl Morris is not only number two to head of visual merchandising Debbie Burrell, but is widely respected at Matalan and regarded as a future leader.
She joined the business aged 17 and has worked her way through the ranks. Today she is the senior visual merchandising and POS manager responsible for menswear and kidswear. She also coaches junior members of the team.
But it was the promotion to her current role in 2010 that she credits as her greatest achievement. “This has been earned from personal merit and promotion over 10 years, solely through one company. My role involves strategic planning for the company, leading a team of visual merchandising experts to drive new innovative ideas and building our overseas franchise, shaping how this will look in the future,” she says.
Burrell says Morris’ promotions have been down to commitment and merit: “She adds value to the business on a daily basis and the team really looks up to her for advice both professionally and personally. She stands out above others because she is so determined and achieves her goals whatever it takes.”
