39. Tanya Lawler, vice president, eBay UK

Tanya Lawler, eBay

Position last year:100

Lawler rises up the ranks quickly this year as the platform reached its 20th anniversary in September and launched a new UK app, updated with a more user friendly-design and enhanced personalisation features.

She has been responsible for eBay in the UK for the past three years, where the marketplace boasts more than 200,000 business sellers and 18 million buyers, representing a phenomenal force in the small fashion retailing world.

In October, she announced the innovative extension and expansion of its tie-up with Argos, to allow eBay’s sellers to drop off products at stores for nationwide delivery. This built on a relationship formed in 2013 when Argos began allowing shoppers to pick up their eBay purchases from its stores to give its users more “convenience, choice and value”.

Since the 2013 agreement, more than 3 million parcels have been processed using the service from around 800 UK and Northern Ireland Argos stores.

The pioneering pick-up service is offered at more than 800 Argos locations and drop-off will ramp up to 150 stores by the end of the year.
