Demonstrating confidence in the premium department store business, Stacey Cartwright led the revamp of Harvey Nick’s store in Birmingham which was unveiled to the public in July and pushes a more luxury boutique feel for the retailer. She also took a brave stance, demonstrating greater brand personality, with the ‘Love freebies? Get them legally’ campaign which was launched in July to support the retailer’s debut Rewards by Harvey Nichols loyalty scheme and app.
The quirky campaign was built around the idea that until the launch of the loyalty campaign the only way customers had been able to get something for free was by shoplifting, and enabled Harvey Nicks to attract significant media attention. In another first, Harvey Nichols also trialled a directly shoppable Instagram feed in April, showcasing the department store business’s desire for continuous innovation under Cartwright.
