51. Alison Loehnis, president, Net-a-Porter Group

Alison Loehnis

New entry

Stepping into the shoes of Natalie Massenet (number 41) less than a month after she quit was never going to be an easy task.

But Alison Loehnis’s new role as the first lady of luxury fashion ecommerce (or more officially, president of the Net-a-Porter Group) has been years in the making. Long seen as Massenet’s right-hand woman, the 45-year-old’s promotion to president of Net-a-Porter in October came around eight years after she joined the business as vice president of sales and marketing, and now gives her the chance to step out of Massenet’s shadow.

Spectators will be watching what she does with the business’s many arms – Net-a-Porter, Mr Porter, The Outnet and Porter magazine – and we’ll be watching to see if she climbs from her new entry position of 51 in the 2016 list.
