Alexandra Shulman, editor-in-chief, British Vogue

Position last year: 97

The longest standing editor of British Vogue, 2015 was another positive year for editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman, with cover stars including actresses Sienna Miller and Emma Watson.

Having led the monthly title since 1992, Shulman’s Vogue remains one of the most prominent and influential women’s magazines in the UK, with circulation topping more than 200,000 a month, while the title’s online offer grows from strength to strength, with a particular focus on video.

Shulman’s Vogue has always championed young and emerging designers and the Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, created in collaboration with the British Fashion Council and now in its sixth year, provides a high-level mentoring support programme and a £200,000 grant. This year, Shulman and the other judges awarded the prize to Mary Katrantzou, who joins past winners Peter Pilotto, Nicholas Kirkwood, Jonathan Saunders, Christopher Kane and Erdem.
