James Brown has continued to drive growth at Sainsbury’s Argos clothing brand Tu. Sales were up 3.3% year on year for the 12 weeks to 21 September, boosting the supermarket’s overall results. The clothing line launched on the Argos website last year.
Notable product launches for the brand this year included its breastfeeding-friendly clothes, praised by mum shoppers. The range included T-shirts, blouses, pinafores and jumpsuits, and demonstrated Tu’s keen understanding of its customer.
Brown also oversaw the introduction of new Oasis concessions in selected Sainsbury’s stores. After the successful trial in six stores, more are planned for 2020.
