Andy Long

CEO, Pentland Brands

Andy Long has led Pentland Brands through another strong year. In September, it added women’s footwear brand 52 Degrees London to its portfolio, joining brands such as Lacoste, Kickers and Ellesse.

Parent company Pentland Group – majority shareholder in JD Sports Fashion – soared to revenue of £5.1bn for the year to 31 December 2018, its most recent results.

Pentland Brands embraced digital innovation in 2019. It trialled its first augmented reality fit app with swimwear brand Speedo. It also partnered with Next and Marks & Spencer to create an ethical trade app that educates employees about responsible labour in the supply chain.

In October, Pentland introduced ideas incubator Disruption Lab, which brings together employees from across the business to create new brand propositions.
