Drapers Next Generation: The future is in the Next Generation’s hands

This was our fourth year sponsoring what has now become a really great event.

The question-and-answer sessions were as stimulating as ever and the guest speakers were inspirational to the young attendees. The view of London from the 28th floor of Altitude on London’s Embankment was more breathtaking than ever and suited the occasion perfectly.

The calibre of the attendees gets better every year, and once again the day was full of young professionals and budding entrepreneurs who I know enjoyed meeting the large number of chief executives and creative directors who gave up their time, and who came to share their life experiences and views on the future. No one could have left the day without feeling inspired.

The Next Generation event is now building up a head of steam and is poised to grow in size to become a flagship event for our industry and an important factor in the future success of fashion in the UK. In fact, because of this success, other sectors are now seeking to replicate it within their
own industries.

The message from the day? With the relentless rise of everything digital, this generation is well qualified to capitalise on the potential, thereby helping to underpin our inevitable economic recovery. The future is in their hands.
