Euan sutherland, supergroup
Chief executive Euan Sutherland has overseen another year of soaring sales and profits at Superdry owner SuperGroup. Revenues climbed by 31.1% to £334m in the half-year 29 October. Ecommerce performed particularly strongly.
Sutherland remained unflustered by the UK’s shock decision to leave the European Union, outlining ambitious plans for expansion plans at home and overseas. Alongside opening a 12,000 sq ft store in New York, Superdry opened an innovative new store concept at the Westfield London and Manchester Arndale shopping centres and continued to focus on sportswear, adding a menswear range, new fits and designated areas within more of its stores. In December, it opened its largest store to date – at 40,900 ft – in Berlin.
