Drapers Top 100 2016 – 22. Nitin Passi, founder and chief executive, Missguided

Missguided founder Nitin Passi has rocketed up the Top 100 list this year.

The fast fashion etailer posted record revenue for the year to 31 March 216, as sales jumped 34% year on year to £117m.

Over the last 18 months it has expanded into activewear, plus size, petite, tall, denim, nightwear, lingerie and bridal.

Global expansion – this year it launched wholesale partnerships with Asos and Zalando, as well as concessions in Schuh, El Corte Inglés in Spain and Boyner Group in Turkey, on top of its existing concessions in Selfridges and 60 Nordstrom stores in the US – led Missguided to be named International Fashion Retailer of the Year at the Drapers Awards 2016.

Arguably Passi’s most significant achievement this year, though, was the opening of Missguided’s first physical store, at Westfield Stratford City in November. With a further three stores in the pipeline for next year, he has a busy 2017 ahead.
