Drapers Top 100 2016 – 23. Liz Evans, chief executive, Oasis and Warehouse

Liz Evans

The primary focus for Liz Evans in 2016 was relaunching Warehouse as an “elevated, contemporary and unique” brand. Evans appointed Emma Cook as design director and the brand began to feature more premium fabrics, including silk and leather, and strong prints. Following a positive reaction from the industry, Evans launched a new-look flagship for Warehouse at 19-21 Argyll Street in London’s Soho in September.

Both the Warehouse and Oasis websites re-platformed in June to improve the user experience for customers. The two chains worked with Accenture Strategy’s Javelin Group, Demandware and Retail Assist to manage the online migration. Oasis also appointed its first commercial director this year in the form of Tim Cooke, who spent the first 20 years of his career at Marks & Spencer. With a rumoured sale of Warehouse, Oasis and Coast on the horizon, 2017 will be an interesting year for Evans.
