Drapers Top 100 2016 – 38. Natalie Massenet and Caroline Rush, chairman and chief executive, British Fashion Council

Natalie Massenet Caroline Rush Top 100

Natalie Massenet Caroline Rush Top 100

The British Fashion Council has played an important role this year in rallying the fashion industry in the face of the Brexit vote. In May, it hosted a debate at the Make it British sourcing event in London, which aimed to promote the UK manufacturing industry.

In the same month it launched three initiatives to support future talent in the industry, pledging £10m over the next 10 years. BA scholarships and schemes to increase access to fashion courses are part of the project.

Rush and Massenet appeared separately on the top 100 list last year, but in the first full year since the latter’s departure from Net-a-Porter, she has focused on activities with the BFC, and alongside Rush is now the public face of the organisation.
