It has been a tumultuous year for Darren Topp. He started 2016 at the helm of BHS, which collapsed into administration in April.
Despite the chaos at BHS, Topp acknowledged that the situation was “hideous” and apologised to the 11,000-strong workforce, who lost their jobs.
Despite the chaos at BHS, Topp emerged with his reputation intact and was announced as the new chief executive of LK Bennett in September.
LK Bennett faces challenges, but it does have opportunities in the UK and overseas. It will be interesting to see where Topp ends up on the list next year.
