Online auction site eBay has developed its fashion strategy over the past 12 months – and a key driving force behind this strategy is Bartlett, who joined from Sainsbury’s in 2005.

In August eBay launched Curve Fashion Hub, a dedicated area for plus size. Curve has collections from brands including Very, Littlewoods, Boohoo and Figleaves, in sizes 18 to 36, and eBay did a big advertising push for it in the run-up to Christmas.

In September, Savile Row tailor and Great British Sewing Bee judge Patrick Grant’s social enterprise fashion brand Community Clothing launched exclusively on eBay – a project that was spearheaded by Bartlett.

There are also plans to introduce a shopping chatbot in partnership with Facebook Messenger, which could have interesting implications for fashion.
