It’s been a relatively quiet year news-wise for Wendy Hallett, who drops just one place from last year.
Profitability at her successful concessions business, Hallett Retail, increased by around 130% over the two years to 29 August 2015, its latest accounts. This increase, it said, was achieved by growth in its retail business, aided by the efficiencies afforded by its vertical supply chain via the warehouse facility in Manchester it acquired in May 2013. Turnover for the period rose 6% to £10.6m.
When she is not doing herday job, Wendy Hallett is a regular at industry events and is a champion for women in the workplace via her work with the Women’s Business Council, tackling areas such as the gender pay gap.
