Drapers Top 100 2017 - 12. Anne Pitcher, managing director, Selfridges

Selfridges MD Anne Pitcher is overseeing an ongoing and impressive capital expenditure programme, under which £300m will be invested into transforming its London flagship and digital offer. With the second phase of the shimmering new London accessories hall opening at the end of November, Pitcher’s vision for the business’s development is taking shape, leading the charge for luxury department stores.

Pitcher edges up the Top 100 after Selfridges announced record sales and profits in October – operating profit jumped 18% year on year to £180m and sales grew 16% to £1.6bn for the year to 28 January 2017. With the redevelopment expected to be completed by summer 2018, we will be watching to see how the investment programme moves this iconic retailer into its next phase of life.
