Federico Marchetti moves up into the top 10 for the first time this year, having steered leading luxury pioneer Yoox Net-a-Porter Group (YNAP) through an exceptionally successful 2017.
The parent of Yoox, Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter, YNAP hit half-year sales of €1bn (£896m) for the first time in June. For the nine months to 30 September revenues were up 18.6% year on year to €1.5bn, and the 600 million visitors to its websites placed 7 million orders.
Always the innovator, in July Marchetti opened YNAP’s 70,000 sq ft tech hub in London’s White City, which he called the business’s “temple of innovation” and “vehicle to the future”. The hub focuses on augmented reality, artificial intelligence and mobile technologies, helping to keep YNAP at the forefront of digital innovation. Meanwhile in October, Mr Porter launched Mr P, the company’s first foray in own brand.
