Andy McGeoch is not one to shout about his achievements at the helm of his family’s value fashion retailer. However, the results speak for themselves: in September M&Co announced plans to open up to 75 new stores in the UK by 2022, after posting a healthy rise in profits for the year to 24 February 2017. Operating profit increased by 37% year on year to £6m, while like-for-like sales were up 1.5%.

Meanwhile, a clear commitment to staff development has earned M&Co a reputation as a top-class employer. It was the only fashion retailer in the UK to make it on to The Sunday Times 30 Best Big Companies to Work For list in 2017.
