What he’s learnt: “Make every day an opportunity.”
Fast fashion retailer Quiz has grown from a single store in Glasgow into a global multichannel business. Heading its international buying department is Haris Ramzan, who has helped the retailer to break into new markets.
Recent projects include leading the buying for Quiz’s expansion in Spain, as well as managing a new curve range, which launched in March last year is already on course to beat its sales targets.
Ramzan studied Chemical Engineering and Finance at the University of Strathclyde before joining Quiz, which was started in 1993 by his father, Tarak Ramzan, who is his mentor and career inspiration.
“Developing new markets, including Central America, Cyprus and Malaysia, has been a real achievement for me, as has turning around challenging territories and establishing strong sales all year round,” Ramzan says.
Finance director Gerry Sweeney describes Ramzan as a “smart and passionate individual with tremendous attitude and drive”, adding: “Haris has a natural curiosity to develop his understanding across the business and is impatient to contribute to the business.”
