Amazon’s Kay Bennett has played a pivotal role in the development of the tech heavyweight’s first European own-label fashion brand, Find. Working as part of a small team, her role included setting up a supply base from scratch, developing the brand’s identity and introducing new processes to get the launch off to a flying start.

“Being part of Find is, without a doubt, my biggest achievement to date,” she tells Drapers. “It has been challenging yet hugely rewarding, and the response from both the industry and the customer has been overwhelming.”

Glen George, director of Amazon’s private brands in Europe, describes Bennett as “embodying our obsession with customers”: “Kay has the combination of a great eye for product and the willingness to dive into complex data to make the right decisions for customers and to restlessly innovate.”

Bennett has always been one to show initiative and create her own opportunities. While studying fashion buying at Manchester Metropolitan University, she began volunteering in visual merchandising at the flagship store for children’s charity Barnardo’s to get her first step on the ladder. This later helped her secure an internship at Asos.

Career path:

2017 Associate vendor manager, Amazon

2015 Assistant buyer, Asos

2013 Buying assistant, Asos
