Massimo Dutti poaches property director from Bestseller Group

Spanish retailer Inditex has appointed Bestseller Group’s Paddy McCormack as property director of its Massimo Dutti chain in the UK, Drapers has learned.

McCormack will oversee Massimo Dutti’s 11-store UK portfolio. It is not known when he will take up the post.

He has worked at Bestseller Group, which last week acquired home shopping retailer MandM Direct for £140m, since 2011 and is currently UK and Ireland real estate manager.

The privately owned Danish company runs a number of fashion chains including womenswear brand Vero Moda and young fashion brand Jack & Jones, and has 3,000 stores in 38 countries. Previously McCormack worked for DSG International and Swedish premium brand J Lindeberg.

Massimo Dutti opened its first UK store in 2003, a three-storey flagship on Regent Street. It has since added 10 more, all in and around London.

Worldwide the brand has more than 600 stores in just under 60 countries.
