UK wholesale manager - menswear, Burberry, aged 26
Talk to anyone about Niki Speight and you get the same answer - this is a young man who has already carved a great career in menswear, and who will go far.
Speight, who joined Burberry in spring 2010, manages UK menswear sales for Burberry Brit, Burberry London and Burberry Sports - quite a responsibility. And with Burberry’s sub-brands once again buzzing in indies and department stores, Speight is proving his worth for the business.
Despite his tender years, Speight is no newcomer. He started his fashion life working ad hoc at menswear brand Duffer of St George, but had the opportunity to move to Hugo Boss for a six-month internship when he was just 19.
The internship was extended and the rest, as they say, is history.
Stints followed at Boss Golf, and later Boss Green and Boss Orange, with Speight eventually becoming menswear sales manager for both labels, with responsibility also for distribution. Indeed, Speight’s seven years with Hugo Boss coincided with a massive renaissance of the brand.
And with the hype around Burberry, Speight’s future looks bright.
