Drapers 30 Under 30 2020: Oliver Fayed, sales manager, Hugo Boss

Age: 30

Oliver Fayed has been promoted three times since he started at Hugo Boss in 2015 as a sales executive for the now discontinued Boss Green. Since joining, he has been tasked with creating a comprehensive sales strategy to dramatically increase turnover when the brand consolidated its portfolio into two labels, Hugo and Boss, in 2016. Now working on the Hugo label, Fayed hit targets he had initially been set for 2022 in 2018.

This, he tells Drapers, is his biggest achievement, alongside graduating from Kingston University with double first-class honours in science and business in 2014.

An innovative self-starter, his career at Hugo Boss began when he messaged wholesale director Stephan Schuster on Linkedin. Two days later Fayed went for an interview and, as he puts it, has not looked back since. His ultimate ambition is to become the sales director or managing director of a luxury menswear brand.

“Oliver has an entrepreneurial mindset that has been invaluable to the growth of the brand,” says Taranjit Goodwin, head of PR and marketing at Hugo Boss. “Most recently, Ollie has been instrumental in driving brand awareness moments for Hugo in Selfridges and Flannels. His commitment to the success of the brand is second to none.”
