Anthony Nathan

Managing director of footwear distributor 33 Joints

“2012 will be even tougher than 2011, and to do well in this market your product will have to be spot on. The Chinese yuan is just about to strengthen again against the dollar, but I don’t think anyone will increase retail prices in these market conditions, so margins will take a hit again. Key footwear trends for summer are ‘no socks shoes’, for example espadrilles and ballerina pumps. For next winter it will be more shearling-lined boots, riding boots and wellies.”
