French Connection appoints new finance chief

French Connection has appointed Adam Castleton as group finance director to replace Roy Naismith, who is leaving the high street retailer after 12 years.

Castleton, who is currently finance director of the O2 Business Division, will take over the role on August 12.

He has spent 25 years working in finance roles at businesses including eBay,, Polo Ralph Lauren and The Walt Disney Company. He was also previously acting chief financial officer of O2 UK.

French Connection’s chairman and chief executive Stephen Marks said: “French Connection is going through a period of positive change, and Adam brings the skills we need to take the business through this period.”

The retailer is currently undertaking a review of its retail operations after it made a pre-tax loss of £7.2m over the year to January 31.

Castleton added: “French Connection is at an exciting and important stage in its development and I look forward to working with the Board and contributing to the future success of the business.”
