Mike Goring

Managing director, Bhs, and group operations director, Arcadia

Up against one of the toughest recessions on record, Sir Philip Green has looked to long-serving Arcadia lynchpin Mike Goring to steer his domestic business this year.

While colleague Ian Grabiner has been leading the US expansion of Topshop, Goring has kept a steadfast grip at Arcadia on the domestic front. Towards the latter half of this year Green announced plans to merge Arcadia with department store chain Bhs. It was Goring whom he charged with overseeing this tricky integration.
Goring retained his responsibilities as Arcadia operations director, but is now also managing director at Bhs.

He has not only been responsible for the now complete back-office merger but will oversee wide-ranging changes to the product offer at Bhs.
