UK chief executive, Brand Alley
Rob Feldman, along with Brand Alley’s branded suppliers, has done more to wind up the independent sector than most in the past 12 months.
His website’s policy of offering heavily discounted branded goods via a private Sale model has undercut the sector that likes to sell at full price right through the season.
As site membership grows, the net result is that indies are now completely rethinking their brand mixes ahead of next year’s key buying periods.
What Feldman has done though is deliver exactly what a big chunk of consumers want - great quality fashion, with hot labels and knock-down prices. If not kept in check by suppliers, this could contribute to a permanent shift in the consumer psyche on price though.
