Simon Berwin

Managing director, Berwin & Berwin, and board member, UKFT

Simon Berwin is one of this year’s highest climbers. The menswear manufacturer’s rescue of German menswear brand Bäumler from administration in November, with the help of the brand’s UK agent Jason Gerrard, ensured spring 10 orders to its 150 stockists would be honoured.

On top of that, Berwin was appointed non-executive director of Moss Bros in June, after leading a consortium of investors who bought a 28% stake in the menswear chain last year. As its leading shareholder, Berwin has become a real face in the menswear sector.

In May, he was appointed to the board of the UK Fashion and Textile Association (UKFT), and will head up has been appointed to head one of its four committees, focusing on marketing.

Berwin expanded his Paul Costelloe men’s suit collection for spring 10 to launch a more premium line after strong sales of its spring 08 mainline. In May, he also won the licensing deal for Fullcircle suiting and has also taken on Lambretta to replace the Ben Sherman suit licence which ended last June.
