Stephen Sunnucks

European president, Gap

Gap has had another turbulent year, with the US giant’s international sales slipping further still as the downturn continues to impact the iconic casualwear retailer.
However, with the business now in its 40th year, Stephen Sunnucks announced that he will begin investing in strategies for the US group to regain market share in Europe and expand internationally, including launching a long-awaited transactional website for the UK, which is earmarked to go live next year. In the meantime, Gap made its UK online debut via etail giant Asos.

In celebration of its landmark birthday, Gap opened a pop-up store in London to mark the occasion of the opening of Gap’s first denim store in San Francisco in 1969.
Sunnucks also paid tribute to Gap co-founder Don Fisher, who passed away at the age of 81 this year.
