Senior fashion retail job changes announced 6-13 September 2018


Ralph Lauren

Sadie Tew is the new head of retail for Europe, Middle East and Africa for the fashion label’s direct-to-consumer division.


Tew worked at Ralph Lauren in the past, before joining Michael Kors. She comes back to Ralph Lauren from her role at Vaule Retail.

Retail Executives

Sarah Curran-Usher has joined Retail Executives, a specialist fashion and retail recruitment firm, as a partner and head of the new retail advisory division.


Curran-Usher is currently chairwoman of luxury British brand Richards Radcliffe and a non-executive director of French Connection.

She was managing director of Shop Direct’s Very Exclusive division until 2017. A former sub-editor at The Times, Curran-Usher co-founded her own affordable luxury ecommerce site, My-Wardrobe, in 2006, but eventually departed in 2013. The same year she was appointed an MBE for her services to fashion.

McArthurGlen Group

Outlet owner McArthurGlen Group has appointed former Under Armour executive Susie McCabe as its first deputy chief executive.


McCabe held the position of senior vice-president of global retail at Under Armour for the past four years. Before that, she spent 16 years at Ralph Lauren in a series of senior positions in both the full-price and outlet divisions.

Superdry has appointed former Tommy Hilfiger global head of womenswear Brigitte Danielmeyer to the newly created chief product officer role, part of the executive committee.


At Tommy Hilfiger, Danielmeyer was part of the team behind the much-hyped collaboration with supermodel Gigi Hadid. She has also been part of senior teams at Esprit and German womenswear brand Liebeskind Berlin.

Temperley London

Temperley London has appointed Sally Hughes as chief executive, with immediate effect.


Hughes led the UK launch of skincare brand Glossier as general manager from September 2017, and previously spent two years at Google, most recently as head of retail insight. She spent almost five years at Net-a-Porter, latterly as head of performance marketing and commercial.

The Cambridge Satchel Company

David Newman has become chief operating officer at bag brand The Cambridge Satchel Company.


Newman was co-founder of Supremebeing. He left the menswear brand in December 2015 after 18 years.
