Owner, Jaeger, Allders and Aquascutum; chairman, British Fashion Council
The industry’s most dapper retailer, Harold Tillman continues to be the face of British fashion, staying on as BFC chairman beyond the traditional three-year tenure to see the industry through the Olympic year. He launched Fashion 2012 at London Fashion Week’s September edition, an Olympics-focused initiative comprising exhibitions at the V&A and missions to promote emerging UK and international designers. But according to reports, he pulled a potential sale of Jaeger after it failed to attract bids north of £100m.
