43 Stephanie Chen & Alan Winstanley **New***

Director of womenswear and accessories, and executive director of menswear, kidswear and beauty, House of Fraser

After enjoying a record Christmas in 2010, with like-for-like sales increasing 8.5% in the five weeks to January 8, House of Fraser has continued to go from strength to strength. It has been aided by the success of its menswear and womenswear departments, spearheaded by Alan Winstanley and Stephanie Chen respectively. Under Winstanley, the flagship Oxford Street store has revamped its men’s formalwear department, which now has its first bespoke tailoring service. In womenswear, August saw the launch of the Mary & House of Fraser department at the Oxford Street store, with Mary Portas, while sales of the department store’s own labels continue to grow.

Last year’s position 49 (Chen) and new entry (Winstanley)
