While most bricks-and-mortar businesses have been ramping up their online presence and channels, Alan White has gone the other way, taking his etail empire to the high street with the opening of its first stores for plus-size brand Simply Be. The industry will be watching closely over the next 12 months to see if White can succeed on the high street as he has done online. This year also saw White take N Brown’s lingerie etailer Figleaves to a half-year profit for the first time, and sign up former cricketer Andrew Flintoff as the new face of the company’s menswear brand Jacamo.
