In fact, Made in Britain products are so sought after that brands and retailers have launched specific collections to satisfy this demand, while growing international luxury markets can’t get enough of our threads. But with China and the Far East now the long-established manufacturing grounds for the UK, we’ve been left with a skills shortage here. Step forward Drapers’ Save Our Skills campaign. Launched this year with the backing of key industry figures and businesses, it’s aim is to nurture the UK’s grass-roots skills. Long may it continue into 2012.
