Founder, Jack Wills
Speculation continues that media- shy Peter Williams is gearing up for the sale of a stake or a float next year that could value Jack Wills at up to £500m. It’s easy to see why. As the British heritage trend continues to draw in droves of loan-spending university students, the retailer posted an increase in pre-tax profits of £3.8m to £10.4m for the financial year to January 31. Cool new stores have been cropping up across the UK, and offshoot Aubin & Wills is satisfying the taste buds of an older shopper. Further expansion in the US is on the cards, with plans to add up to 10 new stores to the 11 already operating there.
Don’t mention… Being banned from reprinting the spring 11 Jack Wills catalogue by The Advertising Standards Authority, after it received complaints that some images, which included partial nudity, were inappropriate.
