57 Tim Whitworth

 Chief executive, Republic

Contending with tough trading conditions, Tim Whitworth reportedly asked banks for increased financial flexibility and also revised the business’s total store ambitions from 250 to 200. It’s not all bad news though, as the young fashion chain has seen strong growth online and has increased its offer by adding a new own label.

What they say about him… One industry figure reminisces: “When Tim introduced his friend Carl Brewins to his parents and told them they were going to open a shop together, they weren’t very happy.”
