63 Colin Temple ***New***

Chief executive, Schuh

Commonly referred to by his peers as “the nicest man in footwear”, Colin Temple did little to shake off this good guy image when his staff benefited to the tune of £37.3m following the £125m sale of the branded footwear retailer to US retail group Genesco in June. Schuh opened four stores in the UK in 2011, taking its total store count to 63. It plans to open eight more in 2012. For the year ended March 27, Schuh reported net sales of about £164m.

What they say about him… One footwear brand’s sales manager told Drapers that on one visit to Schuh’s head office, Temple offered to carry his bags to the car.
