65 Fiona Lambert New

Brand director, George at Asda

Barbara Hulanicki may have shunned House of Fraser’s Biba relaunch, but she submitted to the charms of George at Asda brand director Fiona Lambert, who, just weeks after House of Fraser’s launch, unveiled George’s own range created by the Biba founder herself.

Keen to raise George’s quality credentials, Lambert unveiled a designer collaboration with Savile Row-trained tailor Charlie Allen featuring wool-blend suits, merino wool cardigans and leather footwear, and then claimed that the days of disposable fashion were over.

It’s no wonder the supermarket chain is gunning to become the number one non-food retailer in the UK within five years.
