A re-entry on this year’s Power List, Pan Philippou has led a reinvention of the Ben Sherman brand. He directed the revival of its stores, the autumn 11 launch of its higher-priced Plectrum line and unveiled the company’s first unbranded concept store on Portobello Road, London. There’s even speculation that the iconic Ben Sherman script logo could be phased out for a new modern look. Philippou also spearheaded the opening of a concept store for its Plectrum sub-brand in tandem with Leeds menswear indie Hip.
What he says… “We should be the British Hugo Boss, but somewhere in history the brand got lost so we have been working to reinvigorate it, to make it more relevant.”
