M and M Direct’s sales grew 21% and orders rose 30% to more than 800,000 in the 10 weeks to January 3. During the period the discount etailer sold 2.7 million items. It picked up a total of three awards at the Drapers Etail Awards in January 2010 including Best Pure-Play Etailer, Best Etail Marketing Initiative and overall Etailer of the Year.
Since then chief executive Robinson and his team have kept their heads down throughout the rest of the year, after Robinson said international expansion would be key in 2011.
