From letting its readers take over one of its issues to having correspondents in each city it distributes to, Stylist knows UK shoppers better than most. Those in London are glued to it on their Wednesday commutes, putting its editor Lisa Smosarski (top) and fashion director Alexandra Fullerton in one of the most powerful positions in UK fashion media – the products they print sell. But the Stylist brand goes beyond print, with engaging Twitter feeds and a Facebook page, not to mention an interactive website. What began as a “free women’s weekly” in 2009 has become one of the most sought-after publications for brands and retailers. Product placement here is gold.
