Top 100: 11. Christos Angelides

Group product director, Next

Drapers’ autumn 12 Hit or Miss series saw Next brush aside the competition to claim top spot across all three categories - womenswear, menswear and footwear - a feat not previously achieved in Drapers’ recent past, at least. That achievement is down to one man: Christos Angelides. With Kate Bostock no longer at the helm of Marks & Spencer, and the newly appointed general merchandise team yet to make an impact, Angelides now has, arguably, the biggest product job in fashion. But with his low public profile, Angelides is a quiet, powerful driving force of the high street giant, and a loyal one at that, having been with his beloved Next for some 26 years.

What they say about him… “There’s no getting him out of there,” according to one desperate headhunter.
