Top 100: 22. Anne Pitcher

Managing director, Selfridges

In the two years Anne Pitcher has been at the helm of Selfridges she has strengthened the department store’s offering to such a degree that this autumn it surpassed sales of £1bn for the first time. Selfridges was also named the world’s top department store by the Intercontinental Group of Department Stores for the second time. The renovation of the London flagship has introduced a fresher, modern feel that encourages both the high-end shopper while not intimidating the middle-market purchaser - both essential players in Selfridges’ game.
