Top 100: 40. Caroline Rush

Chief executive, British Fashion Council

It’s been a busy 12 months for Caroline Rush, who as chief executive of the British Fashion Council has helped to make 2012 a truly great year for British fashion. June’s launch of London Collections: Men, the UK’s first standalone menswear fashion week, was a brave decision and no mean feat, attracting key names back to the city’s catwalks and moving the men’s shows to the very start of the buying season, which was an undoubted triumph. The continued success of London Fashion Week, the expansion of the London Showrooms initiative to Paris, Los Angeles, New York and Hong Kong, the organisation of the British Fashion Awards and the BFC’s continued support of up-and-coming designers have all been overseen by Rush and her team.
