Top 100: 57. Christopher Kane

Despite only turning 30 this year, Christopher Kane is no longer ‘one to watch’ in the traditional sense; now, he’s the one we all watch, season after season, for genuine innovation. Few designers can match his technical skill and creative ambition and, as such, his collection arguably stole the limelight at London Fashion Week for spring 13. Kane’s designs are nothing if not original. His spring 13 range, inspired by Frankenstein’s monster, featured pretty pink dresses plastered with black tape, proving his ability to take the unexpected and make it truly covetable. Meanwhile, his famed galaxy and animal prints continue to inspire the high street. Kane is now a force to be reckoned with.
